I am Lucia Ellis, LCSW, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and psychotherapist who has been in practice since 1994. I hold active Clinical Social Work licenses in Georgia and Delaware. Until 2018, I worked with clients in Atlanta, GA and its surrounding areas. In 2018, I moved to Delaware. There I have a private practice and continue to work with Atlanta clients via a HIPPA-compliant online platform that permits us to meet face-to-face via the internet.
I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) summa cum laude at the University of Georgia and completed my internship as a therapist at Families First in Midtown. I worked for several years at St. Jude's Recovery Center in Downtown Atlanta as the Director of Outpatient Services.
Before becoming a therapist, I pursued my love of writing by earning my BA in Journalism at Georgia State University; I was a newswriter at CNN for many years. Prior to that, I fulfilled another dream, by owning bookstores in Atlanta and Boulder, Colorado.
I live my passion now by working with adults in my private practice. My clinical specialties are addiction and recovery, life transitions, meditation and intuitive development, and healing childhood wounds. Additionally, I offer provocative and uplifting classes, seminars and workshops to the general public and to clinicians in the mental health field.
My sincere intent is to help each client hear and heed his or her Inner Voice; to teach people to truly love and honor themselves, and in so doing, to truly love and honor others. My motto is from Shakespeare: "To thine own Self be true, and it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man."
Please feel free to call me if you have any questions or if you would like to set up an initial appointment. If for any reason we are unable to work together, I will do my best to provide appropriate referrals.
Congratulations for taking this step towards your own healing and fulfillment. It is my privilege to walk with you along the way.
